Day 1 MADRID
Welcome at the airport and transfer to Hotel.
At agreed time, panoramic visit of the city of Madrid: Calle Alcalá Gran Via, cultural and commercial heart of Madrid, Paseo del Prado with its worldwide famous museums Prado Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Reina Sofía Museum. They form the Art Triangle of Madrid.
Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2 MADRID
Breakfast. In the morning visit of Prado Museum, one of the largest in the world. With 200 year-old, nowadays, the Museum’s collection has more than 7,000 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings. Among the treasures which can be seen today in the Museum are jewels as the Three graces of Rubens, Velázquez’s Las Meninas, The executions of Goya, The washing of Tintoretto and The deposition of Roger van der Weyden, etc.
Lunch. By the afternoon, visit of ‘’Madrid de los Austrias” (Madrid of the Hasburgs). Majestic Square Plaza Mayor, the world famour Puerta del Sol, Real Palace and Cathedral, etc. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day 3 MADRID
Breakfast. Free day of leisure to enjoy the Spanish capital, to visit museums, to get lost in the streets of the old town, to enjoy the bars in the city, the nightlife, etc.
Day 4 MADRID-SEVILLA
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the AVE (Spanish high speed) and departure by train to Seville. Trip duration 2 h 30′ aprox. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Panoramic tour of the city: Visit of the most important monuments of Seville: Alcázar, Barrio de Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz neighbourhood) and the Cathedral.
Visit of the Alcazar: It highlights different Palaces from various periods (Mudejar, Renaissance…) and its gardens which evoke his Muslim past.
Visit by the Barrio of Santa Cruz, the Jewish quarter of Seville. We will stroll through its narrow streets, places where was the medina of Seville, later transformed in the Jewish quarter. Lunch in a restaurant.
Visit of the Cathedral and Giralda Tower. The last point of our visit will be the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world, where we will enjoy the biggest altar ever made of wood in all the Christendom; the tomb of Cristóbal Colón (Christopher Columbus); the Sacristy; as well as works of the most prestigious artists of all time: Zurbaran, Murillo, Goya… Accommodation at hotel.
Day 5 SEVILLA
Breakfast. Free time of leisure in the morning to continue visiting the city on your own: may move to the Museum of fine arts, where you will be able to enjoy works by Velazquez, Goya, El Greco, etc. Or you can enjoy the city driving horse carriage, typical of Seville. Also visit the typical bars of Seville, and taste its famous Tapas (small portions of homemade typical dishes). In the afternoon, we will make the route of Flamenco. No doubt Seville means flamenco. We will begin by ‘’Barrio de Triana’’ (district of Triana), where are the best schools of Flamenco and the sound of the guitars and flamenco singing is heard from every small street. Then we will visit the Museum of Flamenco, owned by the world famous flamenco dancer Cristina Hoyos, where you can learn the origins of this universal art. We will end the day with a flamenco unique show in a local of ‘’Barrio de Santa Cruz’’ (Santa Cruz neighbourhood). Dinner in a typical restaurant. Accommodation.
Day 6 SEVILLA-CÓRDOBA
Breakfast. Departure in the morning to Cordoba on AVE Train. Arrival and visit of the city, where for centuries three cultures (Jewish, Arabic and Christian) merged: the Jewish quarter, fortress of the Catholic monarchs, the Synagogue, etc. Lunch and free time of leisure. At the end of the daylight, visit of the Mosque: a new way to learn about this unique Temple and admire its beauty, discovering aspects up to now unpublished, immersing us in experiences and transporting us, using new technologies, on a journey in time, art and spirituality that will take us on a journey through the history of the monument, its artistic value and its cultural and religious significance. Dinner and accomodation.
Day 7 CÓRDOBA-MADRID-BARCELONA
Breakfast. Transfer to the AVE station and departure towards Barcelona passing by Madrid. Arrival and lunch. Panoramic tour of the city: port Olimpic; Barceloneta neighbourhood with its narrow streets; Gothic quarter, where the city was founded more than 2000 years ago; Las Ramblas, always lively and full of street artists; and neighborhood of the “Eixample” or Ensanche, where you will find the most representative works of modernist architecture, etc. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 8 BARCELONA
Breakfast. Visit more in depth of the Barcelona of Gaudí, the universal genius that blends modernism and neo-Gothic in his works. We will begin by the District of Ensanche, to discover the buildings built by Gaudí, such as Casa Batlló or La Pedrera, with inside visit of them. Then visit the Sagrada Familia, the landmark of Barcelona, masterpiece of the famous architect: begun in 1882, the magnitude of the work makes it today still under construction. We will visit the interior, go up to one of the towers to see the city from the heights and discover some details of the Temple. Lunch and free afternoon.
Day 9 BARCELONA-MADRID
Breakfast and departure to Madrid. Lunch and free time of leisure in the afternoon. Accommodation.
Day 10 MADRID
Breakfast. Free day of leisure to do some shopping, to visit some of the museums that are pending, etc.
Optional Excursion to Las Rozas Village, the outlet of the prestigious brands: Armani, Bulgari, Versace, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Lauren, etc.
Day 11 MADRID
Breakfast and transfer to airport to return to your hometown.
